Update on the new mAbDx Vibrio coralliilyticus RapidTest presented at the 2016 annual meeting of the World Aquaculture Society

Mon 14 March 2016

mAbDx and Oregon State University collaborators presented an update on the new mAbDx Vibrio coralliilyticus RapidTest at the recent 2016 annual meeting of the World Aquaculture Society. Vibrio coralliilyticus (Vc) is a shellfish pathogen that causes serious production disruptions in marine shellfish hatcheries and is currently difficult to detect and manage. The Vibrio coralliilyticus RapidTest is a novel, simple and rapid lateral flow immunoassay (LFA) that detects Vc contamination of Pacific and Atlantic larval oysters and may help shellfish hatchery managers manage vibriosis more effectively. The test was developed with the support of SBIR funding from USDA-NIFA.
